Feria + Cartas de Olavarría

Gracias por las cartas !

Diego Rojas es Bibliotecario en la ciudad de Olavarría y con sus alumnos
de 3º grado leyeron "La Oficina de los besos perdidos".
Intercambiamos cartas, pero de las de antes,
de las que viene el cartero a golpearte la puerta!
"Cuentos del pan duro" es un libro escrito e ilustrado por estos chicos
con la ayuda de Diego y su maestra Gabriela. ¡Felicitaciones!

We exchanged letters, but those of earlier,
of the postman who comes to knock your door!
"Cuentos de pan duro" is a book written and illustrated by these childrens
with the the help from Diego and her teacher Gabriela. Congratulations!

El amor en los tiempos del cólera

Amé a Javier Bardem en la película "El amor en los tiempos del cólera".

El es el personaje pricipal: encarna a Florentino Ariza que está profundísimamente
enamorado del personaje de Giovanna Mezzogiorno que encarna a Fermina Daza.
Florentino está muy bien caracterizado y tal cual lo recuerdo de
mi libro preferido: alto y encorvado, lánguido, con raya al medio
y de estómago frágil. Su madre confunde los síntomas del amor con los del cólera:
en el momento que le declara su amor en una carta a Fermina llega
literalmente enfermo a su casa.
Recomiendo leer primero el libro antes de ver la película,
ya que se pierden varios detalles que GGM relata en su libro.
Estas son las dos tapas que conozco. Yo tenía la segunda. La primera es
más antigua y mi preferida, ya que refleja mucho más el espíritu del texto.
Aparece el barco que se llama Nueva Fidelidad (donde Florentino Ariza
llega a ser presidente de la companía). Es en esta embarcación donde
se reúne con Fermina Daza. Después de 51 años de espera
viajan varias veces juntos. Adoro esta historia de amor.

"The love in the times of the cólera"
Loved to Javier Bardem in the film "The love in the times of the cólera".
He is the main character: it embodies to Florentino Ariza that is deeply in love
of Fermina Daza, that embodies Giovanna Mezzogiorno.
Florentino is very well characterized and as is the memory of my favorite book:
high and bent, languid, parts his hair on one side and fragile stomach.
His mother confuses the symptoms of the love with the ones of the cólera:
in the moment that declares him his love in a letter to Fermina,
arrives literally ill to his house.
I recommend to read first the book before seeing the film,
since it lost several details that GGM recounts in his book. This are
the two covers that I know. I had the second. The first is older and my favorite,
as it reflects much more the spirit of the text. It appears the ship that calls
New Fidelidad (where Florentino Ariza becomes president of the companía).
It is in this craft where gather with Fermina Daza. After 51 years
of expects travel several together times. I love this love story.

El libro negro de los colores

Este libro fue ganador del premio New Horizons,
en la Feria del Libro de Bologna 2007.
Textos de Menena Cottin e ilustraciones de Rosana Faría. Editorial Tecolote.

Una "cena para los sentidos", como lo describe la Editora del proyecto.
"El libro negro de los colores" realmente me conmovió.
Es más que un libro para ciegos, nos introduce a los lectores en su mundo.
Apela a los otros sentidos. Este libro tiene texto escrito, braile
e ilustraciones con texturas y relieves. Y los únicos colores que podemos
distinguir son negro, blanco, gris y plateado.
Me hizo ver, y mejor dicho sentir, que los colores son más que para ser vistos.
Con esa austeridad cuenta la historia. Hermoso.
Aquí, se puede leer la experiencia
de la ilustradora Rosana Faría al aceptar este desafío.

A "dinner for the senses," as described by the editor of the project.
"The black book of color" really surprised me.
It's more than a book for the blind, introduces us to readers in their world.
It appeals to other senses. This book is written text, Braile
and illustrations with textures and reliefs. And the only colors that we can
distinguish are black, white, gray and silver.
I did see, and feel better, that the colors are just to be seen.
With that austerity tells the story. Beautiful.
